A few months ago my friend asked me how people cleaned fursuits. Their younger sister did MMA, and in their words, “took poison damage” from a sparring partner’s gloves.

I started going to a Jeet Kune Do class out of curiosity and today we learned some moves that used gloves. I used some communal gloves provided at the studio and they really did smell nasty. I washed my hands with soap 3 times before I got most of the smell out.

So far because we’re just practicing predetermined movesets, class feels really similar to dance. I’m not sure that martial arts is like that at a more advanced level, but yeah. Dance.
